As family members of truckers, the founders of DOT exam professionals developed this company to address some of the needs and deficiencies with medical examinations we saw in the industry. We wanted to provide a service that was cost effective for the trucking company, convenient for the drivers, and with quality standards that would meet or exceed current FMCSA guidelines. By providing quality exams, we hope to contribute to the overall safety of our nation’s highways. Both Dr. Guiffre and Tina Hall have high standards for themselves and their staff. After decades working in a teaching hospital, the challenge to develop a system for quality DOT physical exams that are efficient and accurate has been rewarding. They personally train their staff so that each exam is done consistently and accurately for each company at every location. Working with so many safety conscious trucking companies and their hard working truck drivers has been especially rewarding.
Tina Hall RN, MSN, FNP
Chief Executive Officer
Tina Hall started her medical career in 1987 when she graduated summa cum laude with a BSN from Azusa Pacific University. Her sharp clinical acumen earned her the position of charge nurse of the Medical-Surgical Unit at the Jerry L. Pettis Memorial VA Hospital. Within nine months, she started working in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit and was promoted to Charge Nurse. Her ongoing desire to learn more led her to a position in the San Bernardino County Medical Center Emergency Department (now Arrowhead Regional Medical Center). During her nine years of practice at this Level II Trauma and Burn Center, she became the charge nurse and a designated Trauma Nurse.
In 1998 she graduated with honors from California State University at Long Beach with a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) and as a Certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP). After two years at Loma Linda University Outpatient Surgical Center and Pain Clinic, she returned to the Emergency Department at Arrowhead Regional Medical Center. She also additionally worked at a local Urgent Care Clinic which enhanced her skill sets as well.
Several years ago she had the opportunity to apply her vast experience in medical examinations to the DOT medical exams for commercial drivers. This work experience was so interesting and rewarding that she co-founded DOT Exam Professionals as a result. She is dedicated to using her extensive knowledge and teaching skills to provide the safest DOT compliant examinations.
Ms. Hall’s passion for teaching is evidenced by her certification as a CPR Instructor, clinical instructor for the Critical Care and Emergency Medicine rotation of a local RN Program, and her work with the Nurse Advice Line. Additionally, she has training in Legal Nurse Consulting.
Tina and her husband, Stuart, have been married for 21 years and have 3 teenage children. Her hobbies include traveling and reading.
Debra Y. Guiffre, MD, FAAEM
Medical Director / Chief Operations Officer
Dr. Guiffre began her medical career in the Navy at the Naval Hospital San Diego. A keen interest in rapid and accurate evaluation of patients, lead her to be selected for a position in the Emergency Medicine Residency program at Brooke Army Medical Center. Following her residency, Dr. Guiffre was appointed as the department head of Emergency Medicine at the Naval Hospital in Naples, Italy. Her responsibilities included overseeing over 140 different types of physicals performed on officers and enlisted personnel for all branches of our military.
She is board certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine (ABEM). She was recognized as a Fellow in the American College of Emergency Medicine (FACEP) and as a Fellow in the American Academy of Emergency Medicine (FAAEM) for her contributions, research and excellence in the field of emergency medicine.
Her love of teaching lead her to become an instructor in both Advanced Cardiac Life Support, and Advanced Trauma Life Support. After 8 years in the Navy, she left and became the clinical director at the San Bernardino Regional Medical Center. It was here that she saw patients and supervised medical students, interns, and residents in the emergency department.
Concurrently, Dr. Guiffre was also a teaching attending in the emergency department at Loma Linda University Medical Center. She then became the only physician in the county holding positions at both of San Bernardino’s trauma center emergency departments.
After more than 25 years in the chaotic world of emergency medicine, Dr. Guiffre retired to a life of boredom! She was rescued in 2010, when Tina Hall, FNP, invited her to become a partner in DOT Exam Professionals (a service division of Exam Professionals, Inc.) Together they built a company that specializes and excels in performing on-site DOT physical exams for commercial truck driving schools and commercial trucking terminals.
Dr. Guiffre enjoys spending free time with family and friends especially when joined by the 3 playful rescued Huskies she adopted.
